I am new to the Megaformer. Should I take a private lesson first?

CHI50 does not require you to start with a private session if you are a beginner.  Our certified trainers will explain the  machine to you & coach you through the class, giving modifications to suit your fitness level.  

We do recommend private sessions to clients that may have a medical condition or any injuries.

What should I bring to class?

We require that clients wear socks with grips on the bottom for their safety and for sanitary purposes. If you do not own grip socks you can purchase them at the studio.

*Complimentary hand towels will be provided

*We have a filtered water filling station so bring  your water bottle and stay hydrated!

*Bring an open mind, and a desire to change and become stronger!

 

What do I wear to class?                                                                                               

Wear clothes that breathe easily and that you can move easily in.  Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.  We do recommend a shirt or tank top with form fitting pants or shorts. 

For your safety and protection we advise you to not wear jewelry- it can get caught in the machine! 

 

How often should I work out each week?

The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue at which point you need to rest. Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more, or less, time to recover. We recommend 3-4 times a week to allow your body to properly recover and repair. Listen to your body, it’s up to you!

 

Should I eat before/after the workout?

We recomend having a small snack, 30-45 minutes, before working out... apple, banana, handful of almonds. Eating something light before workout will help keep your energy up and also helps you burn more fat rather than muscle!  

 

After class we suggest to consume protein within 45 minutes of working out. Eating protein post workout helps with muscle recovery.

 

Can I work out at CHI50 if I’m pregnant?

For clients who are pregnant and new to the workout, we do not advise starting our classes. However, clients who have been regularly attending classes may continue working out with us as long as you have received approval from your doctor. Please contact us if you have any questions.

 

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your class start time. If it’s your first time at CHI50, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior so that your instructor can introduce you to the studio and the equipment.

 

Will my spot be given away if I am late? 

Yes!  It is important to be on time. Please try to arrive to class a few minutes early. If you do not arrive within 5 minutes of the scheduled class time, your spot may be given to someone who is waiting. If you are NEW to class, you MUST arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of class.  All new members go through a walk through of the machine to receive proper set- up and safety of the machine.  If you do not arrive in time to get a through introduction to the machine you will not be allowed to enter the class.
